Więcej o Prawdziwych Programistach...

Ostatnio pisałem o Melu Kaye, archetypie Prawdziwego Programisty. Przy okazji poszukiwań Prawdziwych Programistów trafiłem na kolejny artykuł, też z 1983 roku, tym razem jednak gloryfikujący FORTRANa ;)

http://rixstep.com/2/2/20071015,00.shtml

O ile cały artykuł obecnie jest bardziej świadectwem historii komputerów, to punkty 7 (Rozrywka Prawdziwych Programistów) i 8 (Naturalne środowisko Prawdziwego Programisty) chyba nadal są aktualne ;) Mój ulubiony fragment to ten:

The Real Programmer is capable of working 30, 40, even 50 hours at a stretch, under intense pressure. In fact he prefers it that way. (...) If there is not enough schedule pressure on the Real Programmer he tends to make things more challenging by working on some small but interesting part of the problem for the first nine weeks then finishing the rest in the last week in two or three 50 hour marathons.

I pamiętajcie:

#define true false

nigdy się nie nudzi jako dowcip :)

1 komentarz:
